From Doctor’s Desk – Caring for Yourself After Childbirth – Every Mother Deserves Care Too

The birth of your baby is a joyful moment, but your own recovery is equally important. The weeks after delivery are a time for healing, rest, and adjusting to your new role as a mother.

Eat nutritious meals rich in protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins to regain your strength and support breastfeeding. Drink enough water and include fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, pulses, and healthy homemade food in your daily diet.

Take adequate rest whenever possible, even if it means sleeping when your baby sleeps. Maintain personal hygiene, take medicines as prescribed, and watch for signs such as fever, heavy bleeding, severe pain, or breast problems. If you notice any of these, consult your doctor immediately.

Regular postnatal check-ups help monitor your recovery and your baby’s health. Do not hesitate to discuss emotional changes, anxiety, or sadness with your doctor, as postpartum depression is common and treatable.

At Sevayan Hospital, we care for both mother and baby, helping you recover with confidence while enjoying every precious moment of motherhood.
